Placement Practice

Last three days had really been an interesting one.Second time here at PATNA Campus we had mock practices of Campus Recruitment Process.Mr. B. B. Pant,HEAD T&P BIT Mesra had come to our campus. We had Technical,Aptitude,Quantitive,English Tests followed by Group Discussion and Interviews.Out of these the worst experience was during Group Discussion. The way other participants started a fish market,I thought I would not utter a single word. But I joined a bit later but had to converge the discussion to a messy ending.I dont know why good speakers cannot be good listeners.Everyone was fighting with others like it was the State Legislature.Today sir cited a roadmap for development of required competency.

Rural Bihar Shining - A scintillating Truth

Today morning when I opened the newspaper, the story which excited me most was a rural BPO in Bihar.Disbelieving ,it read " Saurath, located about 180 km from Patna, is known for its `fair of grooms’ of Maithil Brahmins. But the fair is fast losing its traditional value. At present, ripples are being created for a different reason altogether. Last year, Drishtee Development and Communication Ltd, a Noida-based company opened the first rural BPO of north India. "
It further added "The BPO has 20 computers and four permanent employees, apart from six others on contract. "I never thought that I would be able to do a job in my life. But here, I enjoy talking to persons in UP, Bihar and Assam," remarked a 38-year-old housewife, Asha Jha. Asha is a matriculate and the sudden transformation from a housewife to a working woman appears to have thrilled her. "I earn Rs 17.50 per hour and it comes to around Rs 3,500 per month," she said, adding it has given her great confidence. ".

This is the real face of development which the country needs the most. These people need to be awarded for addressing the least adressed strata of our society.Even on a small scale it is a giant leap for the development of our nation. If the major corporate players could learn a lesson from it, the basic issues of poverty and unemployment can be fought with a great deal.
This is even more rewarding from corporate point of view.Since the cost of living in rural area is low , henceforth the Cost to Company(CTC) for these tasks will be lower. Thus bigger companies can expect more profits in such ventures.
