RIP 2009 Its over Finally

Today the final codes were submitted and the fortnight long tension got resolved. This accounted for  the first comprehensive project in my resume and I am sure is one of the  most comprehensive one done during RIP 09. My topic was Engineering College Seat Allocation Process. This is very similar to the counselling process and we tried to implement in the same way  we had perceived during the admission time. This  is all over and was really an interesting  learning experience. The whole development process could have been more productive had we been told to  begin implementation a bit early. 15 days back I had no idea of the technology we were going to implement. While my partner was reluctant with EJB I was particularly interested in using JSP .After a long fuss we finally settled with a mixture of Java, Beans, JSP and Servlets. The process had a  tough side too .While 1 week ago  we had nothing other than the design doc  and an idea of what to implement. We had gone through a long way and had to devote 14-18 hours a day to complete it on time. Infact we  wasted more than 48 hours in developing   adn debugging the login system. Right now I am sending  the final version of Design Doc.

However this has  started a  great tradition of remote internship  which I believe  shall be soon adopted by many colleges. In fact we are the first one to implement such concept. I would like to thank  Mindtree Limited  in general and my mentor Ananthshri Muralidharan in particular for making it a grand success. Even one cannot forget the initiative by Jayanta Dutta, the BIT alumni who made all this possible. Finally I would thank  my department and T& P cell who were keen to make it a success(Niloy Sir and  B B Pant Sir).
