Two hours @ Exam Hall-2

Today my examinations got over. Last two days had been really tortuous  to me.

For two days I even avoided my dinner. I think my hard work  didn’t go in vain except for today in DSP I made  two silly mistakes .

Had it not been the case it would have been my best semester at BIT.  However let bygones be  bygones, it can never be corrected.

The long tradition of BIT ,to ask out-of syllabus question has also continued in yesterday’s exam, however toady when i prepared  for out-of –syllabus, there was no such question.

Let me see if I can cross the GPA of 8.I returned all the books of Bookbank

Now it is the time to prepare for Techfest of our college. We have named it SPECTRUM -09.Since we are doing it for the first time, BIT administration has decided to fully fund the events.

Initially we thought to have some sponsors. Infact we made all documents ready, but finally BIT decided not to call any sponsor. We have fixed the tentative dates  to 24-25 January 09.

Operation Tornado and Raj Thackrey

Due to my exams i could not  attend fully the happenings in the country esp. in Mumbai. On 27th   morning 5AM, when I switched  my lappy on ,I found the news  regarding Mumbai attacks, and Operation Tornado. While rest 60 hours  drama followed, ne thing which haunted me was ,what Raj Thackrey has got to comment on these incidents. Ignoring the security, economy and other issues, he enflamed Mumbai with matters which has nothing to do  with the nation’s welfare. What he and his  Sena were doing in the hours of crisis? They are brave enough to terrorise all North Indians; why didn’t they did proceed to counter the terrorists. One remarkable point  which I see is that  the NSG which played the key role in curbing the terror, was comprised mostly of North Indians. They risked their lives just because Raj and his company could sleep in peace!. I admit that there were some Marathi Maanoos(I don’t like calling them this way ,all are Indians)  in it, but the question is that had all the Non-Marathis quitted in the operation ,what would have been the fate? I want to give a advice to Raj Thackrey and his company that they should refrain from creating partition within the Country

2 hours@ Exam Hall

Saturday, today four of my papers ended, along with a drama of consecutive hopelessness and anarchy. If  I ponder over past few days of my life, I feel that  the basic methodology of life needs to be defined. What I want to say is that  we  had   with  prepared all our efforts, but when it came to examination, all faces turned gloomy. The reason is not  that we left any stone  unturned ,but  our efforts were in wrong direction. Coming to the point ,the papers of Soft Computing and Data Communication were mostly out-of-syllabus. Even today , “Semiconductor devices”  had strange questions.

The problem is that  here what is taught here  or what we study is totally guided by the syllabus  and the tutorial sheet provided. But at Mesra teachers follow their own syllabus  or whatever may be and set  question accordingly. When it comes to us  we get totally  perplexed at the time of examination because question mostly stand out –of-syllabus. We even complained to Director sir about it , but what is lost is lost, it cannot be reclaimed. Why is then syllabus  given for? The  questions of soft computing were even out of scope of the text book. I don’t  know what people at Mesra think  but to all og us it is a dirty joke , a severe blow to our prospects. This is not something new  but a reiteration of what  occurred in 4th semester end –sem, that time too Discrete Mathematical Structures and  DBMS had similar problems. I hope Exam department at Mesra should take the matter seriously and immediately

Help the Helpless

The Kosi flood of this year has ruined at least 6 districts of Northern Bihar.Saharsa,Madhepura,Purnia,Araria, are the worst affected area.In the madhepura town itself the flood water has been flowing over 6ft on main roads. The town has been declared unsafe and people have been asked to evacuate.Over 20 lakhs of people have lost their everything. Not to mention about the property loss.It has been declared a national disater.Such flood has not occurred in the last 100 years. The Kosi river has changed its course and has shifted by more than 190 kilometers. In this time of disaster Mother India calls all her children for paying off our debts to her.Don't we feel our moral responsibility to volunteer for helping those victims of flood who have lost their homes, their families, livelihood, everything.A small step by us can save the lives of millions from further ruin. You can contribute by.
Donating cash to NGOs and Government Relief Funds.
Donating used clothes to NGOs and other organization
Participating in rescue operations if you know swimming
Helping other relief agencies in their operation
Creating awareness in flood watch areas(where flood is likely to come)
In the purview of the last point i.e creating awareness among the people about safety during flood and safe escape, you can get a help from Flood Safety Guide.Additional resources can be found by clicking here.In case you need any help ,please contact me at my mail id abhishek@abhishekbharadwaj.co.cc

My Bihar's Sorrow

Since my childhood I have found in the books of General Knowledge the river Kosi as Bihar’s Sorrow. I really doubted the truth of this statement when more devastating rivers like Baghmati were there.

But all those doubt melted away  on 18th  of last month when the river broke its barriers at Bhimnagar. Within 10 days the situation has reached so critical that Govt. has asked  to evacuate the Madhepura  town. Today morning it read that the  main road of Madhepura was submerged with 6 ft of water. I don’t  expect any further chances of survival of that city. But the real question is what will be the future of those whose everything has been ruined. Neither I nor you can answer this question. Central Govt has offered a package of 1000 crores INR for the relief and rehabilitation. While I really doubt its implementation I am damn sure that most of the politicians, govt employees will make a good fortune out of it. Yesterday one of my friend told me that most of the restaurant’s in Patna were flooded with Red Light Vehicles(don’t confuse I mean those used by politicians). When he enquired he found that some sort of celebration was going on. While such massive celebration at the time of disaster should be avoided, it actually indicated  huge grants from Govt  offered for relief  works. These shameless creatures have started planning how to forge out the huge money which basically belongs to helpless people ruined in flood.

Placement Practice

Last three days had really been an interesting one.Second time here at PATNA Campus we had mock practices of Campus Recruitment Process.Mr. B. B. Pant,HEAD T&P BIT Mesra had come to our campus. We had Technical,Aptitude,Quantitive,English Tests followed by Group Discussion and Interviews.Out of these the worst experience was during Group Discussion. The way other participants started a fish market,I thought I would not utter a single word. But I joined a bit later but had to converge the discussion to a messy ending.I dont know why good speakers cannot be good listeners.Everyone was fighting with others like it was the State Legislature.Today sir cited a roadmap for development of required competency.

Rural Bihar Shining - A scintillating Truth

Today morning when I opened the newspaper, the story which excited me most was a rural BPO in Bihar.Disbelieving ,it read " Saurath, located about 180 km from Patna, is known for its `fair of grooms’ of Maithil Brahmins. But the fair is fast losing its traditional value. At present, ripples are being created for a different reason altogether. Last year, Drishtee Development and Communication Ltd, a Noida-based company opened the first rural BPO of north India. "
It further added "The BPO has 20 computers and four permanent employees, apart from six others on contract. "I never thought that I would be able to do a job in my life. But here, I enjoy talking to persons in UP, Bihar and Assam," remarked a 38-year-old housewife, Asha Jha. Asha is a matriculate and the sudden transformation from a housewife to a working woman appears to have thrilled her. "I earn Rs 17.50 per hour and it comes to around Rs 3,500 per month," she said, adding it has given her great confidence. ".

This is the real face of development which the country needs the most. These people need to be awarded for addressing the least adressed strata of our society.Even on a small scale it is a giant leap for the development of our nation. If the major corporate players could learn a lesson from it, the basic issues of poverty and unemployment can be fought with a great deal.
This is even more rewarding from corporate point of view.Since the cost of living in rural area is low , henceforth the Cost to Company(CTC) for these tasks will be lower. Thus bigger companies can expect more profits in such ventures.

Towards developing Bihar-A mirage

Bihar state has been known since a long time for its pool of talents and intellectuals.Spread over the globe Biharis(or i call BIHARIANS) have made excellent progress and contributed to the global development that Bihar Brand has emerged as a reliable symbol in the corporate and international academia.
Inspite of all this the real Bihar is too redundant to be developed. The state government's measures to improve the plight of Bihar is noteworthy, yet at the same time the corrupt administration has been blocking the outcomes of all those efforts.
Inspite of wastage of millions over the constructions of roads, the roads in the bihar is still rickety. No particular agency or person can be blamed for this but the people of Bihar.
Everyone wants to have good roads, facilities, etc yet they create hindrance in the development.
Not a single road can be constructed without paying the ransom, or handful of money to the local dadas.Even contractors want to make for their whole life at once.Honesty is being considered the worst policy.
If this

Vice Chancellor -MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE

With profound grief I have to state that our Vice Chancellor Dr. S. K. Mukherjee passed away yesterday. The event is mournful because we have lost a very dynamic person. He was instrumental in the setting up of our Patna Campus.Last time i met him was on 17 feb ,just 5 days ago he suffered lung problem and was hospitalized. He came in the workshop for Energy Efficiency. He was very friendly to almost every staff and faculty members and used to greet them whole heartily. His popularity can be imagined from the fact that every staff who came from Main Campus at Mesra would tell him self very close to him.

His words ,when we joined the institute ,still echo in my ears,"You have done a great job ,joining here at Patna.I want to assure you that resources will never be a problem in your development. This all is yours ,It is up to you much you utilize the available resources."

He introduced each and every faculty members to us, and i was surprised to see that he remembered the names and details of each one of them(Keeping in mind there are more than 200 faculty members at BIT Mesra).

Last time when I heard about him was few days ago, having learnt that he was ill and hospitalized. He was having breathing and pulmonary problems. He was admitted to Apollo Ranchi and was later referred to Apollo Calcutta, where he took his last breath.Doctors reason the failure of multiple organs as the prime cause of his demise.Today his mortal remains might have been cremated.

May his soul rest in piece and his highly cherished dream project of BIT Patna grow and flourish.

He told us many things related to placements and emphasized ,what a company wants in the right candidate. He shared many of his experiences with us.After that a mock Group Discussion (GD)was conducted shortly folllowed by a mock interview. We learnt many things from him.
This is a good sign because we dont want to run to Mesra for placements and all

BREDA Director S.P. Singh stressed on the requirement of Energy Auditor’s in the state who play a key role in saving energy for industries. He told that only BEE marked goods should be purchased by the govt. so that a shift may occur in the market and ENERGY inefficient goods will be out of market taking into consideration the fact that govt. is the largest buyer of electronics goods.

G. P. Lal ,Member board of Governors, BIT explained that energy saved is equal energy to energy produced. A coarse material should be designed for students regarding energy efficiency.

Injustice to North Indians

I am very much distressed after coming to know the agilitation against North Indians especially Biharis in Maharashtra. These little chaps like Raj Thackery who are forcing northist for leaving Maharashtra for their hidden political ventures forget that we have Single Citizenship in India. All the values of great freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi ,Subhas Chandra Bose have been dumped. They donot know that if ALL NORTH INDIANS go against them their whole economy will be spoilt
