My Bihar's Sorrow

Since my childhood I have found in the books of General Knowledge the river Kosi as Bihar’s Sorrow. I really doubted the truth of this statement when more devastating rivers like Baghmati were there.

But all those doubt melted away  on 18th  of last month when the river broke its barriers at Bhimnagar. Within 10 days the situation has reached so critical that Govt. has asked  to evacuate the Madhepura  town. Today morning it read that the  main road of Madhepura was submerged with 6 ft of water. I don’t  expect any further chances of survival of that city. But the real question is what will be the future of those whose everything has been ruined. Neither I nor you can answer this question. Central Govt has offered a package of 1000 crores INR for the relief and rehabilitation. While I really doubt its implementation I am damn sure that most of the politicians, govt employees will make a good fortune out of it. Yesterday one of my friend told me that most of the restaurant’s in Patna were flooded with Red Light Vehicles(don’t confuse I mean those used by politicians). When he enquired he found that some sort of celebration was going on. While such massive celebration at the time of disaster should be avoided, it actually indicated  huge grants from Govt  offered for relief  works. These shameless creatures have started planning how to forge out the huge money which basically belongs to helpless people ruined in flood.
